Faces in Places

August 19, 2009

Gonna start a new category for entries. We’ve all played the game where we stare at the clouds and call out what we see in them. I tend to have these moments often, but they are not limited to the clouds. Faces and characters abound in concrete, logs, towels, peanut butter and so on. When I’m fortunate enough to have paper and pen on me, these hidden gems are allowed to escape the confines of their surrounding and come with me.

Crash and Burn

April 18, 2009

Well that sketch-a-day thing was a rousing success, no? So here’s what happened. Shortly after I came up with this brilliant endeavor, I then went out of town for a weekend, moved, and worked the part-time job while simultaneously banging out a steady stream of illustration work. Plus, I have yet to unpack my scanner. If anyone knows what box I put that in, feel free to speak up. So let’s just call that a trial run. I’ll give it a second go at a later date once life calms down a bit.

Sketch-a-Day 002-003

March 19, 2009

I’m going to create a loophole disclaimer here. Sketch -a-day means I have to make a sketch everyday, not necessarily post one. Busy weekend followed by a busy week has made the whole scan and post process a bit lackluster. So now that we’ve addressed that little hiccup, how about some sketches, eh? We’ll hopefully be caught up date wise tomorrow. For now I gotta get my nose back on that grindstone.

Just reread the Dark Phoenix Saga. X-Men on the brain. Here’s a little Cyclops action (in my favorite of his costumes I might add.) Don’t ask me why he looks like Luke Wilson. Unintentional I promise.

Shake-Zula. The mic rulah. The old schoolah,. You wanna trip? I’ll break it to ya. (Forgot to date this one. Apologies. That has been rectified on the original, but I sure don’t feel like rescanning.)

Sketch-a-Day 001

March 13, 2009

I’ve been seeing more and more people taking up the sketch-a-day challenge. I have now deemed this a spectacular idea and have to decided to join in the fun. Makes sense since I generally sketch something almost everyday already. Giddy up!

Just playing around. One day I really hope to see a 12 story man walking around downtown. As long as he doesn’t step on me. It’d probably hurt.

It begins…

January 6, 2009

With this post, the Gerald Neuhoff art blog is officially underway. In the interest of getting things up and running as soon as possible, I am launching this site as a “work in progress”. With that in mind, please bear with me as the look and functionality will likely be a little rough here in the early going.

This blog will essentially serve as an outlet for all things pertaining to my art. Previous work. New work. Sketches. Ideas. Or anything else I may happen to find creatively inspiring at the time. Thanks for stopping by and I hope to see you again soon.
